Part Two

GC 49.5 New Races, New Adventures

Our explorations reveal several more planets to the north that are suitable for colonization by Eoladi. We also encountered an intelligent race of plants calling themselves "Audrieh" on the planet Alchiba II. The Audrieh agreed to join our empire if we place a colony on their planet to teach them the secrets of high technology. We have done so and they are building up the economy of their planet.

On the diplomatic front, we have formed defensive alliances with both the Equalaaleq and Oeautr. The Meklars declared war on us again; our allies the Oeautr declared war on them in support. This war appears to be another phony war; the SL-071-CYYL empire is to far from our space for us to engage in combat.

Eoladi scientists are marching forward every day. We have discovered how to make improvement to the system-thrusters to increase the tactical speed of our ships. The minister of defense has incorporated these improvements into our designs.

In GC 31.5, the first elections for Senate President were held. Our choices were the New Orions or the Meklars. Not wishing to displease the New Orions, we voted for them. Even if all the other races voted for the Meklars, the New Orions would still have won.

GC 70.5
Our on-again-off-again war with SL-071-CYYL was off again and then on again.

In GC 64.5 the second election for Senate President was held; the New Orions won again.

Our reconnaissance vessel encountered outposts of the Ithkul in the Rhea and Alzirr systems. Shortly thereafter, the Oeautr proposed a bill in the Senate to declare total war against the Ithkul empire, Kimont. We second and the bill passes.

First Battles

GC 72.0, Aboard the ship Eye of the Planet inboud to Malus system.

"I don't like it sir. We should have turned back at Alzirr. This ship wasn't meant for combat and we're moving deeper into Kimont territory."

"Be quiet Lieutenant. We have our orders. 'Explore Kimont space until you meet resistance. Retreat at first contact with combat forces.' Keep those jump engines warm. I'd prefer that the Emperor and the People's House be able to get a few AU for the spare parts in this ship when the mission is over."

"Warplane emergence in 3, 2, 1.."

Eye shuddered as the reaction-drive warp engines transferred the ship from the unreality and safety of hyperspace to the reality and danger of "normal" space. Despite the wishes of any mortal, Eolodi or Antaran, it would be some time before Eye would be ready to jump again.

"Sir, we have multiple contacts."

"Hail them, they might not be Ithku."

"Aye, aye, si-MISSILE SEPARATION; we have multiple inbound!"

"Engage reaction drives!!"

"30 seconds till ju."

GC 82.5, Aboard the ship Wind of the Stars , outbound from Gianfar

"All right people, the Equalaaleq never told us why they didn't expand past Gianfar. We're here to gather information, but not the way Eye of the Planet did. Be ready to jump back out the moment we enter this system. Number 1, what's our status?"

"Warplane emergence in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.."

"Ma'am, we're being hailed."

"Put it on."

" By order of the New Orion Senate, the Fieras system is under interdict. Leave immediately or be destroyed. This is your final warning. "

"Lieutenant Q'aeail, you heard; let's get out of here. Chief Raviaae, get me a scan of whatever broadcast that message."

"Sir, sensors report noth-wait, I'm picking up an extremely large vessel, moving at 4.2 Gm/s!"

"Jump in 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, jump!"
